Types of Massages

Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Sports, Geriatric, Trigger Point and Adolescent


        • Swedish – This is the gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneeling deep circular movements, vibrations and tapping to help to re-energize you.

        • Therapeutic – This form of massage uses a firm touch. The pressure of touch between that of Swedish and Deep Tissue. It uses long.Firm fluid strokes that also include stretching technique giving the client a more complete relaxed feeling.

        • Deep Tissue – This massage technique uses slower, more, forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage.

      Pre-Natal Massage – Helps the expecting moms to relax, reduce anxiety, relieve muscle aches, helps joint pains and combats the feeling of depression. This massage utilized different techniques and is mainly a Swedish Massage. This massage relieves tension and blood circulation through light to mild pressure. Giving the expecting Mom the much needed boost to have a more enjoyable pregnancy. Available from 13weeks to 36weeks.

    • Sports – This is similar to Swedish massage but is geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries including automobile and work related injuries.

      Trigger Point Massage – A trigger point in a muscle is a particular area that can be release and directly effect on another location on the body. It is what is simply referred to as “knots” and/or hypertonic muscles or contracted muscles, due to past injuries, vigorous exercise and/or repetition of movement. These types of traumas usually cause sensitivity, pain, stiffness, and/or loss of range of motion.

    • Geriatric – This method is designed to address the specific needs of the elderly population. This type of massage for the elderly uses a gentle and light application of massage techniques. Geriatric massage can be especially helpful for maintaining and improving overall health as we age. It also has been shown to relieve anxiety and promote comfort, especially to touch-deprived elderly clients. It is becoming common in nursing homes, hospice facilities and assisted living communities and in hospitals.

    • Adolescent – Uses Swedish massage and is a wonderful stress-buster for children. We often think that only adult experience stressful, family illness or financial problems and divorce can produce emotional strain and stress in children. It can benefit your child throughout his or her growing years. Preschoolers have shown better performance on tests of their intellectual and manual skills after a 15-minute massage. They also slept better during naps, were less likely to be overactive and had better behavior ratings. For teens struggling with the growing pains of adolescence, massage helps to balance unstable hormones and can relieve anxiety by producing a state of relaxation. A professional and supportive relationship with a massage therapist can also increase their feelings of self-acceptance and self-confidence during those trying years.
